A Happy New Year to you, I hope that you all had a fabulous festive period.

Hello, my name is Gill. As some of you may know, on the 3^rd of December 2007 I became the proud new owner of the Healing Light (or Thl, as I like to call it!). Most of you probably know Celia and will be pleased to know that her moving on has been a positive one, and that she will continue to be involved in the shop for a while yet. Celia is based in Portugal now where she is setting up a healing centre, with fabulous holidays on offer to recharge your physical and/or spiritual batteries.

Our fabulous team are still totally committed to providing excellent service to our customers. To this end we will be looking at an exciting programme of improvements over the next year. The therapy rooms upstairs will be having a full make-over, after which we will be providing you with a more extensive range of therapies including osteopathy, a low cost homeopathic clinic, acupuncture and herbalism. This is in addition to our current range of therapies which include homeopathy, healing, NLP, hypnotherapy, counselling, and nutritional testing.

We will also be looking carefully at our product range to ensure that we meet your needs in the best way possible. As our commitment to providing you with truly healthy choices we will be looking at the products that we offer to ensure that they do not contain substances that are thought to provide a potential risk to your health, such as sweeteners, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate and Parabens. This may lead to a reduced range initially but you can be assured that if there is a particular product that you love and don’t mind that they contain these things then we will still be happy to order them for you, after all the customer is always right!

We are here to provide a service to you, that is my passion. We are here to service your healthy lifestyle requirements. Now this is a fine statement to make I know, but how do I know what your needs are? I can look at a balance sheet every month and see what stock is selling and what is not, that will give me an idea. But are you buying these because they are the products that you need or is it because they are the products that we stock? Are you happy with our ranges? Are we hitting the mark with the service we are providing for you? Did you find what you were looking for? What could we be doing better? And what do you love about us? Please, please, please let us know – we are all lovely and friendly and we really do want to hear your views. As such there is a feedback form on the counter, fill it in at the shop and give it to the team member behind the counter, take it home and post it to us, e-mail us at "feedback@thlshop.co.uk", call us on 01273 453705 or just let it drop into the conversation when we are packing your bags.

We tend to be pretty good with plastic bags at Thl – loads of you bring your own, we use bags supplied by our customers (thank you so much for these) and we always ask if you need one before we give them out. But for January we are really standing by our principles and are offering a free Jute bag on all purchases over £10. The bags are provided by "A Taste of Sussex", an organisation that promotes using local products in Sussex and they are really fabulous. They are quite small when folded, but open out to give a huge amount of space inside. The bags are also available to buy at £3.50. So let’s work together to get out of plastic!!

Well it’s time for New Year’s resolutions again – mine is to cook a healthy meal for my family every night, and to do it with love!! (It’s also to eat less chocolate but being a paragon of all things healthy in my little shop, I won’t admit to that!!). So we will be offering you some great deals on products to help you to stick to your resolutions, such as 10% on all multivitamins. Ann Marie, our resident NLP and hypnotherapy expert can help you give up smoking and you can also book a health MOT with Jane, our nutritional tester and supplement guru.
