An oasis in the very heart of Shoreham
Vits n' Pieces Health Food and Therapy Centre is situated in a beautiful conservation area in the centre of the old town of
Shoreham-by-Sea.
Overlooked by the stunningly beautiful church of St. Mary de Haura, this picturesque setting has an air
of quiet tranquility and affords us wonderful views both from the shop and the St Mary's therapy room.
It is appropriate that Vits n' Pieces should be beside St.Mary’s as we are told by historians, that this is the very area to
which the Knights of the Order of the Hospital of St.John of Jerusalem came to establish their hospital on land just south of the
high street, long since swallowed by the river. During their occupation, the Knights, commonly known as the Knights Hospitallers,
grew herbs for use in the preparation of potions with which to treat the sick. In some way this tradition is now being revived at
the Vits n' Pieces, possibly on the very spot that the Knights grew their herbs and administered to the needy.
